2 Treats You Can Make With Bisctotti

Biscotti, the crunchy Italian cookies that taste so great dipped in coffee or tea, are delicious enough on their own. However, if you ordered a lot of biscotti and now have more on hand than you know what to do with, you might be looking for some creative ways to use them up. Here are a few ideas for even more divine treats you can make with wholesale gourmet biscotti.

Chocolate Biscotti Crunch

This candy-like treat is perfect for setting out at a party or sharing with friends. All you need is biscotti, chocolate chips, a little shortening, and a sweet tooth. Melt 1 cup of chocolate chips in a double boiler. Stir in a teaspoon of shortening just until it melts and combines with the chocolate. (You can skip this addition if you want, but it does give the chocolate a nice sheen and smoothness.) Remove the chocolate from the heat, and let it sit while you crumble up one cup of biscotti cookies. Stir the crumbled biscotti into the chocolate.

Drop the chocolate mixture onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Place the sheet in the refrigerator, and let the chocolate solidify — this takes about an hour. Peel the chocolate off the wax paper, and enjoy.

Biscotti Pudding Delight

This is more of a dessert-style dish that you could serve at a party. Still, it only requires a few ingredients: a package of pudding mix, 1 1/2 cups milk, whipped topping, biscotti, and butter.

Combine 2 cups of crumbled biscotti with 1/4 cup melted butter. Press this mixture into the bottom of a glass, 9 x 13 inch pan. Place the pan in a 350-degree oven, and bake for 15 minutes, or until set. Let this crust cool for about an hour. It should be completely cool to the touch before you proceed.

Prepare the boxed pudding according to package instructions, but only use 1 1/2 cups milk instead of the 2 cups that a standard pudding box calls for. Spread this pudding over the cooled crust. Then, spread the whipped topping over top of the pudding. That's it — you can serve this dessert as-is, although it looks even nicer sprinkled with some chocolate chips or jimmies.

Biscotti cookies are delicious, but if you have more than you know what to do with, making one of these sweet treats can ensure the cookies are enjoyed rather than going stale.
